Rupak Taal Theka
Rupak Taal Theka is a 7-beat rhythmic cycle, also known as Roopak. It belongs to North Indian Classical Music. This taal consists of 3 divisions of 3/2/2 beats. The Khali is at the 1st beat and the Taali is at the 4th & 6th beat of the taal cycle. This is a popular taal cycle and is used dominantly in Indian Classical Music, Bollywood Movie Songs, Ghazal, Bhajan, Gurbani Sangeet, Folk, etc. Uthaan, Peshkar, Kayda, Rela, Tukda, Laggi, Chakardar, etc composition types can be performed in this taal cycle. This taal starts with a Khali on the first beat, that's its special feature.
